This personal packaging concept reimagines the Grillo’s Pickles brand through the lens of Hawai‘i’s iconic li hing pickled mango snack. Combining playful illustration, cultural flavor storytelling, and layout suited for both wraparound containers and mason jars, this project explores how a limited-edition flavor drop could be brought to life while still honoring the original brand’s clean, approachable aesthetic. Inspired by the designer’s own experience making pickled mango, this label features custom character work, color studies tied to li hing plum powder and tropical cues, and stylized flavor callouts like “Sweet • Sour • Salty” to capture the snack’s nostalgic boldness. Designed to balance authenticity, freshness, and fun, the piece reflects a blend of production sensibility and creative exploration.
